We held a meeting with a representative of the German Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung — Germany’s oldest political foundation, established in 1925. This year the foundation marks more than 100 years of work devoted to democracy, social justice, human rights, social dialogue and international cooperation. Today FES runs projects in more than 100 countries. In Ukraine, FES supports projects in European integration, the development of civil society, youth policy and democratic governance.
At the meeting we presented in detail the work of the Alliance of National Communities «Європейська Коаліція», describing the main areas of our work, the projects we have delivered and our strategic vision for the organisation’s further development. We also presented the work of the Alliance’s youth wing and shared our initiatives, achievements and plans. We are convinced that it is young people who drive positive change, so creating new opportunities for their development, international cooperation, civic engagement and self-realisation remains one of our priorities.
The meeting took the form of an open dialogue. We answered questions about the Alliance’s work, the structure of the organisation, the youth strand, our goals and our future projects. It was gratifying to see genuine interest in our work and a wish to understand our approaches and our vision for development more deeply.
We discussed separately the prospects for joint initiatives, the opportunities for partnership and the pooling of efforts to support young people and to develop inclusive projects, civil society and international cooperation. We are certain that only through interaction, the exchange of experience and joint effort is it possible to create meaningful change and new opportunities for the younger generation.
We sincerely thank the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung for its openness to dialogue, for a constructive conversation and for its readiness to continue engaging. We believe this meeting will be the beginning of fruitful cooperation, and that ahead of us lie joint projects, a stronger civil society and the affirmation of European values in Ukraine.
